Bob’s Babes Rally Round for Prostate Cancer UK

Bob’s Babes was the name of the Smallman & Son sponsored team taking part in the Keyline superheroes and villains-themed fundraising rally held in June. Prostate Cancer affects many men in the construction industry and so our team’s fund-raising efforts were made to honour our very own superhero and founder, Bob Smallman who sadly died 10 years ago from Prostate Cancer.

Keyline is one of the UK’s largest suppliers of civils, heavy building materials and drainage solutions and organises this rally every year to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK. Involving many construction industry colleagues, customers, suppliers and representatives from the charity itself, the 2016 total raised was a fantastic £102,000, bringing the grand total for the charity to date at over £1.32 million.

Suitably kitted out in Smallman & Son hard hats and hi-vis vests, Bob’s Babes were among the twenty-four cars driving all the way from Northampton to St Tropez. Bob’s Babes’ vehicle of choice was ‘Winston’, a 1996 Jaguar XJ6 sports saloon which the team said, “is just the sort of car Bob would have driven back in the day”.
